Today’s energy asks us to get comfortable with paradox, to hold space for both/and. In the past, in one or more area of our lives, everything fell apart. We shook our fists at the sky and brushed the dust from our knees, tired of praying to a quiet God. We rolled up our sleeves and got to work believing that this time, if we built the tower just right, no lighting would dare strike it again. We convinced ourselves that we didn’t really need God anyway, so long as we made ourselves solid enough to be relied upon. Except God is petty af and refuses to be denied. This is the same God who congratulated the toiling builders of the Tower of Babel by scattering that shit to the wind. God does not tolerate monuments to the genius of men. God is not an absentee winner of a BET award and you will not accept the glory on God’s behalf.
Paradox. Both/ And. Whereas previously you prayed and prayed and prayed and nothing was saved, now it seems you work and work and work, and nothing has has been resurrected. You’re conflicted and all over the place. You want to cry and be by yourself; you want to go find the folks who hurt you and cuss them out. You’re #AllTheFeels and #TeamNoFuxGiven. You want to run a marathon before breakfast and then host a pizza coma party on the couch for lunch. You’ve planned out your next three years but you can’t decide what to wear to work. It's a mess.
Spirit is asking you to get cozy with your confusion. Say yes to paradox. Rather than agonizing over which side to plant your feet, learn to dance on the line. Expand your ideas about what’s possible. Perhaps following the rules in deference to tradition will wind up fulfilling your wildest fantasies. Maybe leaving behind all you’ve ever known is the familiar road home. Stop assuming you have the answers in this infinite universe and let God blow your mind a little.
